The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has reiterated its dedication to conducting the upcoming elections in a transparent, fair, and credible manner.

Speaking at a stakeholder engagement, the Regional Electoral Officer for Zambezi, Lesley Simwanza, said the gathering marks a vital step in strengthening cooperation among all election stakeholders, including political party representatives, candidates, media partners, and community leaders.

"This meeting provides us with a platform to share information, clarify procedures and strengthen operations amongst all stakeholders to ensure that the coming elections are credible, inclusive and peaceful."

He emphasised that democracy thrives when there is respect, tolerance and integrity among all actors in the electoral process, urging participants to use the meeting as an opportunity to raise concerns and find solutions in a spirit of partnership and mutual understanding.

"As the head of ECN in the Zambezi Region, I want to assure you that our office remains committed to conducting free, fair and transparent elections in line with the laws and values of the Republic of Namibia."

He further called on all stakeholders to work together in making the upcoming elections a success.
