The president of the Popular Democratic Movement (PDM), McHenry Venaani, is urging voters in the Okakarara Constituency to cast their ballots based on leadership capability rather than party loyalty.

He delivered this message during the party's star rally in Okakarara, part of PDM's final campaign activities ahead of the Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections.

PDM President McHenry Venaani danced joyfully, expressing confidence that the party's Okakarara candidate will emerge victorious and take up the constituency councillor position.

Venaani told supporters that residents should not vote blindly for political parties but rather evaluate whether individual candidates have the political maturity, leadership skills and commitment required to serve the community effectively.

Venaani asserted that PDM candidate Uzeraije Kapika Tjazerua possesses the necessary leadership qualities for the Okakarara Constituency.

"We brought a candidate who is true to his character, is a political unifier, is a nationalist, and is a competent person who can bring about change. I can assure you that there are enough supporters in this constituency to usher in new leadership."

He said it is misleading for political organisations to rely solely on party colours when their candidates may lack the abilities and qualities needed to lead.

Venaani added that Tjazerua has also gained support from individuals affiliated with other political parties, which he said reflects growing confidence in his leadership.

The PDM candidate told the crowd that he was ready to serve and would prioritise community development and inclusive governance if elected.

"What else do I say besides being your leader and working for you? Like most of you, I have little and own neither land nor a house; the position in government will benefit all of us."

The party also introduced its local authority candidates for the upcoming elections.
