Cholera has now spread to 8 of the 10 provinces of Zambia as the country records its 9th death since the disease broke out in August this year.

2 new cases of cholera recorded in North Western Province of Zambia bring the number to 8 of the 10 regions of the country.

Of the 9 deaths recorded so far, only 4 died in the health facilities, symbolising a positive cure rate once medical attention is administered in good time.

From the 584 cumulative cases recorded, 568 patients have recovered from the disease, and only 7 remain admitted in hospital, but all are in stable conditions.

Vaccinations are ongoing in disease-prone areas.

The capital, Lusaka, which has for many years recorded the highest cases, has only recorded 2 cases this year against the harbour town that remains the epicentre with a staggering 316 cases cumulatively since the outbreak in August this year.
