The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) is currently reviewing an application by satellite internet provider Starlink for a local telecommunications licence.
In a statement informing stakeholders and the public on its progress, the regulator said it intends to announce its decision regarding the licence application by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
CRAN spokesperson Mufaro Nesongano said the authority is currently consolidating all received comments, and once completed, this will be shared with Starlink to provide the company an opportunity to directly respond to public concerns and views.
