Okaku villagers are demanding urgent road repairs amid worsening conditions during the rainy season.

The residents say heavy rains turn local roads into dangerous hazards filled with potholes and water pools, damaging vehicles and complicating travel. Many drivers park their cars rather than risk the journey.

The road from Okaku to Ontinda draws particular criticism for its severe state.

Paulo Amwela, an Okaku resident, expressed his frustration by saying, "The problem we have in our constituency is primarily due to the poor condition of the road. The road isn't nice; seriously, our cars are being damaged, things are getting damaged, and we are not okay. There are potholes and too much water—the whole thing isn't okay. Now what must we do?"

Adolf Immanuel, another resident, shared: "From Okaku there, and somewhere from Ontinda, before you reach Ontinda, it is very bad. That is why I passed by; I don't even use the water. I used to make a turn there because this car is strong, unlike others. But the councillor of Okaku and businesspeople need to come together, collect money, and renew it."

Miizimba Nangolo added, "The road needs to be developed to bitumen standard, as it serves many people. Currently, it is damaged, and we are suffering. We stay in the city, and when we come here, this is what we find."
