The Affirmative Repositioning (AR) Party has noted with grave concern the "unwarranted US aggression against Venezuela and its people".

AR calls on all progressive nations, parties, and organisations to fearlessly denounce the US's heinous acts and demand the release of President Maduro and his wife.

In a statement by its Acting Head of Communications, George Kambala, AR says, "President Maduro stood firm in defending his country against imperialism, for which he is paying a heavy price."

Kambala calls on the people of Venezuela to stand up, defend their nation, and reject any attempts to destabilise its democratic order.

He says this is now the opportune time for the United Nations to demonstrate its capacity and capabilities to defend and protect the oppressed nations of the world and, at this moment, the people of Venezuela.

The comprehensive reform of the United Nations Security Council says AR is crucial to ensure that it accurately reflects the world's true representation.
