Over the weekend, the police have responded to a series of events ranging from drug-related to violent crimes and fatal road crashes.

Drug-related crimes were the most recorded offenses.

The Police arrested 12 suspects in connection with the possession and dealing of cannabis, cocaine, and Mandrax.

A 51-year-old man from Etunda in the Omusati Region was caught with over two kilograms of cannabis and cash amounting to over N$46,000.

A 24-year-old woman in Vergenoeg in the Omaheke Region was arrested for dealing with cannabis valued at over N$22,000.

At Omulunga Village in the Oshikoto Region, a 32-year-old man assaulted his 55-year-old father, leaving him seriously injured, while at Swakopmund, a 27-year-old man attacked his ex-girlfriend with a broken bottle.

Suicides were also reported, with three deaths recorded in Okankolo, Opuwo, and Otjiwarongo.

Livestock theft cases were recorded in Keetmanshoop, Omaruru, Oshakati, and Otjomuise, with one case each.

Suspects slaughtered livestock in these towns.

Housebreaking, theft, and vehicle-related crimes were also recorded, involving two vehicles, three thefts from motor vehicles, and two housebreaking incidents.

At Tsandi in the Omusati Region, suspects stole cash and a jackpot machine from a bar, while at Oshakati, vehicles were stolen from private residences.
