The three accused in the recent discovery of a 1.5-hectare dagga plantation at a farm near Okahandja are set to appear in court on Thursday for the bail hearing.

A full bench of High Court judges will hear the case of cannabis activist Brian Jaftha, who is seeking the legalization of dagga in Namibia. 

The matter, initially scheduled for a status hearing, was postponed by High Court Judge Eileen Rakow to July 2.

The Namibian police have seized drugs and illicit goods totalling N$304,890 over the weekend.

On Friday in Klein Kuppe, a 38-year-old Angolan man was arrested after being found in possession of 2,452 tablets suspected to be ecstasy.

The estimated street value of the drugs is N$294,240.
