The Dr Libertine Amathila Annual Sport Tournament concluded with a football final that highlighted unity, inclusion, and the celebration of indigenous talent.

Addressing the crowd at the football final, Outjo Constituency Regional Councillor Kleophas Gaingob expressed gratitude to the organisers and the Government of the Republic of Namibia for recognising indigenous minority communities through sport.

"First and foremost, I would like to express my profound gratitude to the organizers and the Government of the Republic of Namibia for creating a platform that recognizes and celebrates our indigenous minority communities through the power of sport" Kleophas Gaingob said.

Gaingob noted that the quality of football on display reflected the depth of talent within the participating teams, adding that some players competing in the tournament already have national-level experience.

"The level of football we witnessed today is a testament to the incredible talent within our communities. It is heartening to see players here who have already reached national levels, proving that our regions are rich with untapped potential" Kleophas Gaingob said.

The councillor further emphasized the importance of preserving the legacy of Dr Libertine Amathila, describing the tournament as a fitting tribute to her lifelong commitment to community development and inclusivity.

"This tournament is more than just a competition; it is a fitting tribute to the legacy of Dr Libertine Amathila. Her lifelong commitment to inclusivity and community development lives on through events like this, which bring us all together as one" Kleophas Gaingob said.

As the curtains closed on this year's edition, the tournament once again proved that sport remains a powerful tool for unity, recognition, and community empowerment.
