The Katima Mulilo Town Council has begun relocating residents affected by heavy rains from the Dairy Location to the Ngweze Community Hall.

Mayor Kabende Kabende said although they have so far moved four families to the hall, they are facing resistance from other affected residents. He attributed this to the lack of heavy rain over the past two days, urging those affected not to resist, as the days ahead are uncertain and flash floods might return.

He added that the town council will meet with regional heads on Tuesday to discuss further action.

Kabende also highlighted that the council is searching for a warehouse to store residents' belongings temporarily, as the tents are too small to accommodate everything.

Alice Sishango, one of the residents relocated from Dairy, said she had to move because she feared her small children might drink contaminated water that had entered their home, leading to illnesses.
