Miss NGO Namibia has crowned software development student Elly Aron as the next representative for the 2026 Miss World pageant.
Due to the limited time, the organisation that hosts the Miss World Namibia competition ended up not hosting the pageant this year, opting instead to entrust the national duty to the current Miss NGO.
Director of Miss World Namibia Andreas Robert explained the move.
“Now given that the license came because of the work Miss NGO is doing, we therefore saw it fit that Miss NGO Namibia should represent Namibia in the license that she helped obtain.”
The organisation will continue to adopt this approach. Going forward, following the revision of the local competition rules, the Miss NGO Namibia winner will continue to be eligible for participation in the Miss World pageant.
To ensure fairness, the organisation indicated that all current contestants who entered Miss World Namibia for this year will be transitioned into the Miss NGO Namibia programme and receive the necessary support.
Aron shared her excitement: “I just want to say I'm grateful, and I am honored to really take on the responsibility of Ms. N.G.O Namibia to not only represent myself, my family, and where I come from, but an entire nation.”
The Miss NGO Namibia Patron, Emma Kantema, called the public to support the initiative.
“Their journeys remind us that global excellence is possible when talent meets preparation, discipline, and national support. I therefore call upon Miss Selma Kamania and Miss Michelle McLean as the custodians, and with the experience that you've gained during this participation, you should continue to offer your service to mentor our young people.”
