Ten people died during the Easter weekend, matching last year's death toll.

The Motor Vehicle Accident Fund recorded 49 crashes resulting in 115 injuries and 10 fatalities across the country.

Omaheke and Otjozondjupa each recorded three fatalities, while Erongo, |Khomas, Ohangwena, and Oshikoto regions each recorded one.

The number of crashes dropped by 2% compared to last year, while injuries increased by 10%.

Data shows that rollover accidents doubled, jumping from two fatalities last year to five the past Easter weekend.

Accidents involving animals increased to two fatalities this year from zero.

Those involving pedestrians declined from five fatalities last year to three.

Collision accidents dropped to zero, down from two last Easter weekend.
