UNAIDS Executive Director Winnie Byanyima praised Nandi-Ndaitwah's journey from Namibia's liberation struggle in exile to her historic role as the nation's first female President.
Byanyima noted Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah's contributions to independence, democratic governance rooted in dignity and equality, and senior positions such as Foreign Affairs Minister then, while inspiring women across Africa.
On the world stage, Nandi-Ndaitwah advanced justice through platforms such as the Beijing Declaration, leading an inclusive government focused on development, economic growth, and peace.
The presidency noted that the recognition marks a significant moment for Namibia, reaffirming the country's role in global discourse and its continued contribution to addressing challenges.
