Oshana Governor Hofni Iipinge has donated 30 chairs and tables to Mwadhina Gwanembenge Senior Secondary School.
The donated items are part of the regional governor's school furniture project, aimed at providing a conducive learning environment.
The donated school furniture provides much-needed relief for both teachers and learners who share chairs and desks when writing tests and examinations due to their shortage.
Handing over the items, Iipinge stressed the importance of individual seating for every learner, where no learner gets to share a chair or desk.
"We want to make sure that at least you are sitting in the classrooms comfortably, having your own chair, having your own table, not sitting on the broken chair, and not using broken desks, but we take your education seriously as leaders of tomorrow."
The school principal, John Sheyavali, expressed gratitude and welcomed the gesture.
"Starting from January, we had to up our numbers because of the demand. We are a central school; we had grades where learners were seated on the floor, so I then contacted the governor to assist us in this regard, and here it is."
