More than 400 copies of a pictorial book celebrating Namibia’s Founding President, Sam Nujoma, will be distributed to libraries and schools nationwide.
The handover took place on 12 May, commemorating Nujoma’s 97th birthday.
Dr. John Sifani, Chairperson of the NEPC Board, said, “Our hope is that the book's evidence-based content will be mainstreamed in the educational curriculum, as well as displayed in libraries across the country so that generations to come can learn of what our founding father has done for the nation.”
Sam Nujoma Foundation Chairperson Nahas Angula urged, “As this book moves to schools, I hope that it will not go there with dust. Social media is competing, and in those kids, we tell people to look at it. Tell them to look at it. It is in their own interest.”
Minister of Education Sanet Steenkamp described the publication as “one of the greatest gifts that can be offered to a nation and its people,” adding, “Your generous gesture will undoubtedly touch and transform many a life, particularly those of the learners, our youth, and communities who will benefit from these beautiful books.”
