Entries for the 2026 Nedbank Desert Dash will officially open in June as one of Namibia’s most celebrated sporting events prepares for its 22nd edition.

The grueling 401 km mountain bike race across the Namib Desert will take place from 11–12 December 2026, attracting cyclists from Namibia and around the world. Solo entries open on 1 June, followed by two-person teams on 8 June and four-person teams on 15 June.

A major new development for 2026 is the inclusion of e-bikes, allowed exclusively in the popular Half Dash (two-person team) category to make the race more accessible to riders. Due to growing demand, entries in this specific category will be limited to 100 teams.

Nedbank Namibia stated that the event continues to promote endurance, healthy lifestyles, and opportunities for local cyclists to compete alongside international riders.

Organizers expect entries to sell out quickly once again, urging participants to register early for one of Africa’s premier ultra-endurance cycling events.
