The 9th National ICT Summit will be held in the Oshana region.
This was announced by Information and Communication Technology Minister Emma Theofelus at the national ICT Summit gala dinner hosted at Oshakati in the Oshana region.
The gala dinner raised N$842 500 in monetary value and N385 000 in kind.
This year's National ICT Summit will be held under the theme "Harnessing ICT for inclusive growth - a digital pathway to reduce unemployment and eradicate poverty".
The theme reflects on the MICT shared vision of leveraging technology not only to drive economic growth but also to address pressing social challenges and uplift communities.
The summit will be held for the first time in the Oshana region outside the |Khomas region, and it now extends from three days to five days.
"Under the leadership of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, the National ICT Summit has evolved into one of the country's most important platforms for dialogue and collaboration within the technology sector. Since its establishment in 2014, initially spearheaded by Telecom Namibia, the Summit has grown from a corporate initiative into a nationally inclusive platform that brings together government institutions, private sector leaders, academia, development partners, entrepreneurs, and innovators," announced Minister Theofelus.
Theofelus says the summit reflects her ministry's collective commitment to building a digitally empowered Namibia where technology serves as a catalyst for sustainable economic growth, social inclusion, innovation and global competitiveness.
"In an increasingly interconnected and data-driven world, the National ICT Summit continues to play a critical role in advancing Namibia's digital agenda by fostering strategic partnerships, encouraging knowledge exchange, and creating opportunities for collaboration across the ICT ecosystem."
The ICT minister called on possible sponsors to nominate distinguished regional or international ICT experts and thoughtful leaders to contribute and deliver presentations and discussions aligned with the summit's objectives.
