The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) Hockey Club has returned from South Africa after the men's team clinched the 2026 University Sport South Africa (USSA) Hockey Tournament C Section title. The competition took place in Stellenbosch from 29 June to 3 July, with NUST representing both their institution and Namibia against various regional university teams.

The NUST men's side dominated the tournament, winning all five of their matches to finish unbeaten. This flawless performance earned them the USSA C Section crown and secured their promotion to the B Section for the 2027 edition. This achievement marks the second time the team has claimed the C Section title to move up a division.

NUST Coach Fenestha Pienaar expressed immense pride in the squad, praising the players for displaying discipline, commitment, and character across every match. Pienaar noted that the undefeated streak highlights the hard work put in throughout the season, adding that the promotion is highly deserved and signifies just the start for this group.

Player Kilian Beukes shared the team's excitement over the achievement, stating that winning the title means a great deal following their intense preparation. Beukes also mentioned that competing against strong opposition provided valuable lessons, which the squad intends to use when facing the tougher challenges of the B Section next year.

This successful campaign marks another major milestone for NUST Hockey as the program shifts its focus toward preparing for the 2027 tournament.
