Swapo Party has welcomed former members in Sachona in the Judea Lyaboloma Constituency.
Among those who returned are the Independent Councillor for Judea Lyaboloma Constituency Humphrey Divai and former Swapo Party Treasurer Morven Mukwata.
The party's Secretary General Sophia Shaningwa described the event as a sign of reconciliation and renewed unity.
“I would like to appreciate and thank you very much, my two sons, for your commitment and dedication to the party. You always know that home is home, and SWAPO is home, where you belong forever. Welcome once more, my sons. I welcome you together with the new members who are joining the party.”
Shaningwa also commended the traditional authorities and the party structures in the region maintaining peace.
“And therefore, it is very important for us to stand together as a nation to protect our peace and stability, which will enable us to develop our country, send our children to school, and ensure that the infrastructure we have built—including our roads, power lines, communication networks, water infrastructure, educational facilities and hospitals—is maintained and developed. It is only through peace and stability that the development of our country, our region, our constituencies and all fourteen regions will happen.”
The Swapo Party District Coordinator for Judea Lyaboloma said the party membership in the district has increased from 1,800 in 2003 to 2,600.
