Members of the Namibian Defense Force and Botswana Defense Force have been urged to continue strengthening bilateral relations.

During a two-week Joint Military Training Exercise Tshwaragano III at the Combat Service Support College in Lobatse, Namibia's High Commissioner to Botswana, Elizabeth Kakukuru, described the exercise as a crucial and important undertaking.

Kakukuru said the exercise is a practical demonstration of the strong and enduring bonds of friendship, solidarity, and longstanding, deep-rooted cooperation between Namibia and Botswana.

"The friendships established, lessons learned, and confidence developed during this exercise should provide a firm foundation for future cooperation. May the bonds that exist between Botswana and Namibia continue to grow from strength to strength, in the service of peace, security, stability, and prosperity for our peoples and our region."

Namibia and Botswana share not only a common border but also a history, common languages and cultures, values, and commitment to peace and development in the SADC Region.
