The Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and Northern Regional Electricity Distributor (NORED) are strengthening their partnership through a proposed five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The MoU is aimed at increasing public awareness of NORED's activities and service delivery.
NORED's Acting Chief Executive Officer, Toivo Shovaleka, visited the NBC premises, where the two entities reviewed their existing agreement following the finalisation of NORED's Integrated Strategic Business Plan.
"We previously saw the MOU, then aligned it to our ISP for the next five years. Next five years? Yes. Is it from starting to make it? Yeah. Or is it the next five years? No, no. Actually, our year started on the first of July. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we are; that's the issue of approvals, but now it's in place. Yeah. We are now rolling it out. Yes. Yes. And that's why we are able now to comfortably bring it into the MOU. Yeah. Those specific elements which relate to communication, marketing and the partnership we have in between ourselves and NBC? Yes? See, that's the day of the launch."
Under the agreement, NBC will use its broadcasting platforms to promote NORED's activities, initiatives and service delivery mandate, giving the electricity distributor greater visibility among the public.
"Which means we can now with confidence articulate the methods of cooperation in terms of our MOU and the scope of our work. That really makes it easier for both sides. So it's really good that you came, and I'm looking forward really now to implementation from both sides, really, to ensure that the national agenda is really attended to through our institutions of collaboration," stressed NBC Director General Menesia Muinjo.
The five-year agreement is expected to strengthen cooperation and improve public access to information about NORED's services and initiatives.
