Namibians are encouraged to take part in the EU film festival starting next Wednesday.
Eighteen European and Namibian films are expected to be screened in Windhoek at the Opera House.
Through the festival, European Union Ambassador to Namibia Sinikka Antila said, they aim to raise interest, awareness and educate the local audience about European and Namibian films.
The platform will also strengthen cooperation and communication between the EU and the Namibian public.
The Namibian Film Commission facilitated and provided short opening films from local film producers that speak to Namibian societal realities.
Apart from the film screenings, the festival will also present a four-day video production workshop in Keetmanshoop.
The workshop will teach the fundamentals of filmmaking, scriptwriting, and film editing, with the goal of empowering participants to capture and tell their own stories from their own perspectives.
