Ombara Manase Zeraeua, from the Zeraeua Royal House, says they have no dispute with the government regarding the issue of genocide as perceived in some quarters of society.
Speaking at the Omaruru White Flag Day, Ombara Zeraeua says their dispute is directed at the German government on the proposed reparation offer for genocide.
Zeraeua says the German government's offer is nowhere close to meeting the interests of the affected communities, not to mention the historical damage their forefathers suffered.
He is of the opinion that the conduct of the German government towards genocide negotiations undermines both the Namibian government and the affected communities.
"If the German government continues with its tactics of delaying the negotiations, we will be like a small stone in the shoe bothering whoever wears it. The German government must be reasonable enough to provide an offer that will have a long-lasting impact on the lives of affected communities for generations to come. I will not agree to the current arrangements because later my people will say I sold the community away for peanuts, even in my grave."
He added that it is the responsibility of traditional leaders to provide opportunities to young people in their communities.
