After a short stint in activism, Michael Amushelelo has called it quits.

"I hereby inform the public that I am moving away from the activism of being confrontational, shutting down companies and so forth,,"  said the former activist.

Amushelelo says he will redirect his energy and time to educating people to fight for themselves. This, he says, will have a more powerful impact.

"My focus group is going to be the younger generation, those aged 5 to 15. Clearly, it is pointless to try to bend old trees because they will simply break. It is for that reason that my focus will be on the younger people so that we can have young people who are critical thinkers, who are radical thinkers, who are analytical thinkers, who understand the importance of building a Black Economy," he says.

Amushelelo, however, maintained that he remains a member of the Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters.

This week, Michael Amushelelo handed over a petition to Parliament with a myriad of points he wants the legislative to address, among them the dismantling of the Regional Electricity Distributors (RED) and the cancellation of Article 31, which gives immunity to a president or former heads of state for possible wrongdoing while in office.
