A local company, Do Mar Fishing, is expected to construct a logistics hub at Walvis Bay at a cost of N$25 million.
Established in 2017 by Tsumeb resident Antonio Rodriques, Dor Mar Fishing held a ground-breaking ceremony to announce plans for the construction.
The logistics hub will be located in the New Industrial Extension 14 area near Narraville.
Fisheries and Marine Resources Minister Derek Klazen and Erongo Governor Neville André welcomed the project.
Walvis Bay Mayor Trevino Forbes revealed that the council has amended the land sales policy to accommodate young local businesses.
Upon completion, the logistics hub will create 25 additional jobs, adding to the current 18 at Do Mar Fishing.
