Subsistence farmers in northern Namibia are capitalizing on the subsidies provided by the government for plowing and the purchase of seeds for their crop fields.

A government tractor charges N$250 for one vector of land, while privately owned tractors are charged per hour, costs that are not affordable to many in remote rural areas.

Okatana Constituency Councillor Edmund Iishuwa has encouraged farmers to start plowing their crop fields.
