The leader of the Ovaherero Traditional Authority Faction Group, Professor Mutjinde Katjiua has called on the Ovaherero community to rally behind him as he fights for their rights.
While addressing a faction of the OTA members in Okahandja, Professor Katjiua says, his people continue to live in poverty, due to a lack of opportunities and no land.
"We have no reason to be poor, the leadership will come up with economic advancement projects, all I want from the rank and all of us here, Ovaherero community locally and abroad is that you all rally behind the interventions."
Katjiua further vowed to continue with the lawsuit in the High Court on the joint declaration with Germany.
OTA, he says still rejects the offer of about a billion in development aid spread over 30 years.
"The NTLA and the OTA have rejected the joint declaration between the two governments in its totality. The Traditional Authority has taken the Namibian government to the high court for siding with the formal German colonial government that has committed Genocide against the Ovaherero and Nama people. Our government is siding with the killers by conniving with the German government not to pay Ovaherero and Nama people, but to channel to the implementation of Namibia's 5th National Development Plans and Vision 2030."
