Rundu school faces toilet shortage days before reopening

Days before school reopens, the Joy Mungungu Senior Primary School at Rundu is left without functional toilets.

This comes after the donor pulled out due to a breach of the agreement.


The primary school was established by community members before government intervention.

Lukas Makayi said the region has procured stationery and furniture worth about N$4,5 million  for the 2026 academic year.

Most dams across Namibia show little change in capacity despite recent rainfall.

Swakoppoort Dam stands at 83% capacity, and Von Bach at 81.2%. Goreangab remains nearly full at 100.5%, down slightly from 100.8% last week.

Otjivero Main Dam holds 36%, Tilda Viljoen 64.1%, and Dan Viljoen 66.6%.

Holiday calm at Swakopmund, Walvis Bay marred by drownings

However, three tragic drowning incidents have renewed calls for stricter water safety awareness.
