Namibia is aligning its national priorities, especially in mineral beneficiation, with SADC's industrialisation goals.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah will join regional leaders in South Africa to deliberate on key economic, industrialisation, infrastructure, peace and security priorities as she participates in the 46th Ordinary Summit of the Southern African Development Community Heads of State and Government in Durban.

Incumbent President Hakainde Hichilema remains in the lead in the 49 out of 226 constituencies announced so far, as the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) continues announcing results of Zambia's Thursday elections. 

Research and innovation are gaining momentum in Namibia, with universities and government institutions calling for more investment to tackle socio-economic challenges and drive economic growth. 

The International University of Management (IUM) is among the institutions promoting this approach.

The National Commission on Research, Science and Technology (NCRST) says Namibia needs to do more to ensure that products and innovations developed locally are protected and can generate economic value.
