President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has reinforced the spirit of unity between Namibia, Tanzania, and other African nations.

This was done when the President named a tree "Umoja", meaning "unity" in Swahili, at the handover of a plot for Namibia's embassy at Magufuli City in the Dodoma Region of Tanzania.

The ||Kharas Region Police have managed to successfully evacuate ninety-six hikers from the Fish River Canyon.

The hikers, most of them South African citizens, were trapped by rising water levels in the canyon due to heavy downpours in the area.

The Namibian Women's Fistball national team continued its build-up to the European Championship in Switzerland this July by participating in the second league round of the 2026 season at the Cohen Faustball Club grounds in Olympia, Windhoek.
