A member of the African Union's Transitional Group says the historical injustices against Africans need to be contextualised, as colonialism was an organisational project.

The African Union (AU) celebrated its anniversary at its headquarters in Ethiopia's capital, Addis Ababa.

The celebrations were attended by various high-ranking officials from member states.

A 76-year-old man identified as Matheus Shongola Shou reportedly drowned at Olukulo village in the Tsandi Constituency, the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) has reported.

According to NamPol’s Omusati Regional Commander, Commissioner Ismael Basson, the incident occurred around 07h30 on Wednesday.

The Namibia Students Organisation (NANSO) handed out safety guides to educate the public about sexual and gender-based violence in Windhoek's informal Havana settlement.

The students distributed the safety guides by going door-to-door.

The Otjiwarongo Municipality unanimously approved the 2025/26 capital and expenditure budget of more than N$226 million at its special council meeting held here on Friday.

The council in 2024 tabled a budget of about N$144 million.
