Deputy ICT Minister urges staff to ensure tangible impact nationwide

The Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Modestus Amutse, has urged the staff members of the ministry to ensure that their services and work have a tangible impact throughout the country, including at the grassroots level.

 Amutse made these remarks while addressing the staff members of Oshana Region.

Rundu Intermediate Hospital is short-handed

The Rundu Intermediate Hospital is struggling with a staff shortage.

This was disclosed by Medical Superintendent Dr. Jean Kalala Kabangu during the visit of the National Council's Standing Committee on Health, Social Welfare, and Labour Affairs.

Dr. Kabangu says the shortage of staff is forcing the hospital staff to work overtime and has a major effect on service delivery.

Dr. Kabangu further explained that Namibian specialists refuse to work in Rundu as it is referred to as a remote area; this, he says, is a contributing factor.

IUM continues to increase intake capacity

The International University of Management (IUM) continues to increase its intake capacity annually.

The school that started with one learner in 1994 has a population of 13,500 students this year.

Speaking at the official opening of the 2023 academic year, Professor David Namwandi, the founder of IUM, says the university continues to reinvent itself to provide quality education.

IUM, he says, is determined to equip students with problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity skills that are aligned with the 21st century.

Kavango West Regional Council staff called to serve the community with dedication

Chairperson of the Kavango West Regional Council, Josef Sivaku Sikongo has called on staff members to serve the community with dedication.

Speaking at the regional council's general meeting at Nkurenkuru, Sikongo called those in public office to perform, so that residents may enjoy better service delivery.

He also called on the directorates to ensure all funds given to the region are utilized for their intended purpose and not sent back to the treasury at the end of the financial year.
