Minister of Justice Yvonne Dausab tabled the Ombudsman Amendment Bill, calling on lawmakers to strengthen the legal framework governing the Office of the Ombudsman.

The Independent Patriots for Change (IPC), led by Dr. Panduleni Itula, is calling for substantial reforms as the party heads into a crucial election on November 27, 2024.

Namibia has called for the immediate reform of the United Nations Security Council to address inequity and injustice, reflect present realities, and ensure the legitimacy of its decisions.

The need to reform the electoral system were some of the discussions at the SADC Electoral Advisory Council team currently underway in Windhoek.

The post-election advisory council held a closed-door meeting with the SADC Ambassadors and High Commissioners in Namibia.
