The Chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Natural Resources, Tobie Aupindi, has called for change in the operations of conservancies to ensure that they reach their full potential.

He stressed that conservancies are still operating using outdated methods, which no longer speak to the current circumstances.

Dr. Aupindi also took note of the increased population in conservancies with not enough water resources.

He further explained that some conservancies adjacent to national parks cannot increase in size and called for cooperation among members to co-exist and complement each other in terms of benefits.

Dr. Aupindi wants members to be trained in various areas to help them diversify their income streams, such as cultivating devil's claw and improving their day-to-day operations.
