The Namibian Society of Composers and Authors of Music (NASCAM), in collaboration with the Business and Intellectual Property Authority (BIPA), has launched a copyright perception survey aimed at raising awareness about the importance of understanding and respecting copyright laws.

The Namibian Society of Composers and Authors of Music has so far paid one point six million dollars from the total two-coma-three million dollars owed to content creators for the 2023 royalties.

NASCAM warns broadcasters over royalties

The Chief Executive Officer of the Namibian Society of Composers and Authors of Music, NASCAM, Albert Nicanor, has issued a warning against broadcasters that fail to pay their royalties.

The society is currently working on renegotiating standardized licenses for all broadcasters.
