On Tuesday,the Namibian Sports Commission marked two decades of honoring outstanding achievements in sports in the capital city, while officially launching this year's awards.

A total of 36 junior hockey players from nine different regions across Namibia are in Windhoek preparing for the boys and girls Junior Hockey Series tournament, which will be hosted in Zimbabwe from August 8 to 11. 

The third edition of the Standard Bank Junior Hockey National Festival took place at Windhoek High School for two days. Both U11 girls and boys from different hometowns participated in the festival at the Windhoek High School field on Saturday.

The Namibia Women’s Hockey team coach, Erwin Handura, has stepped down. This was confirmed by the Namibia Hockey Union in a press statement.
The news which was doing rounds on social media was officially confirmed by the Namibia Hockey Union President, Reagon Craig.
