The Urban and Rural Development Minister has commended the Opuwo Town Council for developing collaborative methods to address the town's housing backlog, particularly their dedication to low-income earners.
The Opuwo Town Council has appointed Matjandjara Tjihuura-Katurota as the new Chief Executive Officer.
Tjihuura-Katurota is the first woman to assume this executive role.
Before her appointment, Tjihuura-Katurota served as a Financial Manager at the Omaruru Municipality.
The Opuwo Town Council is in consultation with stakeholders to find a solution to the water challenge in the town.
Mayor Rosa Tjeundo also highlighted some of the council's successes to date during the 10th Jubilee Opuwo Trade Fair.
