Savo Nuts Private School withholds Grade 11 2023 examination results

Parents of learners who wrote Grade 11 examinations last year at Savo Nuts Private School at Oshikango in the Ohangwena Region are unhappy about the withholding of their children's results.

Irregularities were detected among 27 learners who sat for the Grade 11 examinations last year at the school; hence, the school withheld the results of the suspected learners.

A team of officials from the Ministry of Education headquarters office was dispatched to the school to investigate the matter.

Grade 12 qualification remains mandatory for acceptance at UNAM

Even if a learner achieves top performance in Grade 11, they will not be accepted at the University of Namibia (UNAM).

UNAM's Student Recruitment and Operations Officer, Josy Nghipandua, has reiterated that one must have completed Grade 12.

Nghipandua advised learners to take at least two AS subjects, which are to be combined with three ordinary-level subjects, for the required marks.

She says, that with adjustments to the curriculum, there are vital NQF levels needed as well as a level of maturity to join the tertiary phase.

Fraud and theft allegations mar West Side High School

Swakopmund-based West Side High School is marred by allegations of fraud and theft.

A female teacher is currently out on bail of N$20,000, and an additional two arrests are expected to be executed this week by the Namibian Police.

A criminal case of theft has been opened against a Grade 11 teacher at the school after she allegedly embezzled about N$30,000, which was meant for the learners' Matric jackets.
