Kavango West regional leaders welcomed the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), describing it as a platform that will greatly benefit the region and its residents.

The Kavango West Regional Development Coordinating Committee has concluded its deliberations on the budget allocation of close to N$400 million for the 2025/2026 financial year.

Kunene Governor Vipuakuje Muharukua has pledged to unlock the region's economic growth potential that will greatly contribute to the Gross Domestic Product.

Muharukua made this assurance during his State of the Region Address at Opuwo.

||Kharas Governor Dawid Gertze highlighted the need to fully harness the region's natural resources to drive Namibia's industrialisation agenda. 

Otjozondjupa Governor John ||Khamuseb has said his region will focus on reviving food security to feed not only the region but also Namibia.

He said this when delivering the maiden State of the Region address in Otjiwarongo today.

The Kavango West Regional Council is working to improve service delivery in the region. A recent staff meeting provided an open platform for dialogue between leadership and employees.

Erongo Governor Natalia |Goagoses said she will not struggle to further develop the region because her predecessor, Neville Andre, levelled the playing field.

Since its establishment, the Erongo Desalination Plant has been recognised as an enabler for the region's modern economy.

This year, the plant marks 15 years of existence. 

It is located about 30 kilometres from Swakopmund, near the Wlotzkasbaken settlement.
