The Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication, and Social Welfare (MGEPESW) is reviving the regional Gender Permanent Task Force committee at Gobabis. 

Lack of value addition to the livestock subsector, inadequate access to potable water, poor network coverage, and rural electrification are some of the key areas that need attention to address regional development in the Omaheke Region. 

Some community members at Epukiro RC in the Okorukambe Constituency are requesting the former community council chairperson, Reinhard Morwe, and his team to hand over all documents, livestock branding equipment, and a financial report to the community, amongst others. 

In its efforts to bring police services closer to the community, the police have inaugurated a police station at Onderombapa in the Aminuis Constituency. 

The fully equipped station has a borehole, a water tank, and a vehicle worth N$6 million. 

The Omaheke Regional Council is aimed at improving the living standards of the local people through various interventions, such as employment creation and other capital projects. 

The community at Tsjaka in the Kalahari Constituency has acknowledged the government's efforts to bring development to the area's growth point.

Though there are agricultural projects, schools and electricity, proper provision of water, a clinic, and a police station remain critiqued. 

Various traditional leaders in the Omaheke Region described the late President Hage Geingob as someone who had always encouraged traditional leaders to reason together in their differences for the benefit of community development.

A local authority councillor in the Gobabis Municipality was arrested on Tuesday on charges of allegedly raping a 19-year-old man in Gobabis. 

It is alleged that the victim went to the Regional Governor's office to obtain important documents and met the 34-year-old suspect outside.
