Australia's Jessica Lane crowned Miss Earth 2024

Miss Australia was named Miss Earth 2024 at the just-ended event in the Philippines.

Namibia's representative, Albertina Haimbala, was also part of the last 12 finalists.

A beaming Haimbala was among 78 beauties vying for the title under the theme "Heritage."

Police applauded for training in sign language

The Executive Director of the Namibian National Association of the Deaf, Paul Nanyeni, has described the initiative by the police to continuously learn basic sign language as commendable. 

This comes after about 30 officers attended a five-day basic sign language course at Rundu recently.

The Electoral Commissions Forum of SADC countries (ECF-SADC) says the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) appears to be ready to conduct the 2024 elections. 

This was contained in a report issued following ECF-SADC's PreElection Assessment Mission to Namibia from the 16th to 20th of this month.

Police seek help finding missing Danny Chipandeka

The police are seeking assistance in tracing the whereabouts of a missing Windhoek resident, Danny Chipandeka (31).

Chipandeka was last seen on Monday when a friend allegedly dropped him off at the Daan Viljoen Roadblock, where he said he was going to exercise.

Swapo Party aims to nenew mandate in upcoming election
