The Swapo Party received 60 new members today, who, upon welcoming received the party's constitution.

Party Secretary General Sophia Shaningwa urged those who still want to return or simply join to do so.

Residents of Maputa Village in the Kavango East Region are unhappy with the registration process conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs. They claim that they are being asked to provide supporting documents that they do not possess.

The death of Dr. Geingob on February 4 robbed the Swapo Party of its president. 

Swapo Party Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called on party members and supporters to protect the country's hard-won independence as the country heads for next year's national elections.

She made the call while addressing the party's rally at Keetmanshoop.
