The Minister of Urban and Rural Development (MURD), James Sankwasa, visited the Omaruru Municipality, where concerns surrounding governance and administration were raised.

As the festivities heat up, Omaruru Municipality has treated over 100 elderly people and people with disabilities to an early Christmas lunch and gifts.

The annual event was graced by the Deputy Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Evelyn !Nawases-Taeyele.

The Deputy Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Evelyn !Nawases-Taeyele, has officially launched the Omaruru Municipality's five-year strategic plan.

This strategic plan emphasizes the continued growth and development of the town. 

Ongoing dialogue and commitments in addressing mental illness and disorders continue to take shape across the country to help sensitise people against the notion of suicide as an option.

Plans are underway to convert the Omaruru single quarters into an open market.

Omaruru Mayor Vincent Kahua says the development will reduce the 70% unemployment rate among the youth in the town. 

Electrical, water, and sewer connections have been completed for ultra-low-income housing units built by the Omaruru Municipality.

The houses were built to accommodate families relocated in June this year from dilapidated single-quarter houses.
