The Minister of Sport, Youth, and National Service has appointed an interim board of the National Youth Council (NYC).

Lawyer Sisa Namandje has challenged Sport, Youth, and National Service Minister Agnes Tjongarero's decision to fire board members of the National Youth Council (NYC), calling it unlawful.

The National Youth Council is without a board after the Minister of Sport, Youth, and National Service dissolved the board with immediate effect.

Minister Agness Tjongarero cited what she calls "serious contraventions" of the Act as the reason for the removal of the board.

Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) MP Maximalliant Katjimune has proposed a motion to merge the National Youth Council (NYC) with the National Youth Service (NYS). 

The National Youth Council (NYC) team visited the Tsumkwe Constituency to engage with the youth. The NYC delegation held meetings in Omatako Village and the settlements of Gam and Tsumkwe.
