Members of the National Assembly have urged the Electoral Commission of Namibia to introduce continuous voter registration to avoid congestion ahead of elections.
The suggestion was made during the ECN’s budget discussion of N$181 million for the 2026/27 financial period.
Despite one or two minor operational issues, voting in the 2025 Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections went well in all 120 constituencies and 59 local authorities.
It is all systems go for Outapi Constituency by-election slated for Monday.
This morning the ECN deployed polling officials and police officers who will maintain law and order at the 42 polling stations.

Voting commenced on Friday and will continue until 19:00 tonight.
