Negotiations for the Pact of the Future and the Global Compact, which will be adopted at the end of the Summit of the Future, are in their final stages. 

The Pact has to be agreed upon by all UN member states by consensus.

President Nangolo Mbumba has encouraged all UN member states to reflect in earnest how they can continue to build on multilateralism.

This, as the negotiations for the Pact of the Future are underway, to be adopted at the end of the Summit of the Future, which Namibia and Germany are co-facilitating.

The United Nations is set to convene the Summit of the Future, a high-level event bringing world leaders together to forge a more appropriate consensus on global cooperation.
