Her remarks follow after a fire that swept through Extension 14 in Mondesa, Swakopmund, destroying 13 shacks.

The weekend blaze left more than 30 people homeless.

The Office of the Zambezi Governor handed over 2900 sanitary pads to the education directorate through the Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare.

The donation follows an initiative launched by Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare to break barriers for albinism and menstrual health.

Nama people representing various sub-tribes of the Nama clan held a Genocide Remembrance Day, paying tribute and honouring their ancestors killed during the 1904-1908 genocide.

The commemoration, organisedby the Nama Traditional Leaders Association was held at Shark Island in Luderitz.
