Bail has been denied for the five men arrested in connection with an armed robbery at the Big Boss Casino Bar in Mondesa, Swakopmund.

Joel Angula (45), one of the suspects implicated in Saturday’s diamond heist, appeared before the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court today.

Angula faces multiple charges, including one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, and possession of uncut rough diamonds.

Joakim Kayangura was denied bail in the Rundu Magistrate Court following his arrest in the hit and run that occurred along the Trans Zambezi Highway.

The incident happened over the weekend. 

Julius Haupindi, 21, who was among the five victims, died instantly.

A twenty-year-old Namibian man who is accused of murdering a security guard at Rundu's Galaxy Mall on Monday was denied bail in the Rundu Magistrate's Court. 

A 33-year-old woman who stands accused of distributing nude photos of a 31-year-old radio presenter has been granted bail of N$2,000 this morning at the Oshakati Magistrate's Court.

Moses Ndjene, who slapped the Swapo Party branch coordinator Bonifatius Munango during a party event at Mix Settlement in April, has been granted bail of N$500.

Ndjene made his first court appearance today. 

Former Fisheries Minister Bernhardt Esau is set to spend another Christmas in the confines of the Windhoek Correctional Facility, as High Court Judge David Munsu ruled that he would remain in custody pending trial.

Farming communities in the Omaheke Region are objecting to the granting of bail to suspects who are involved in stock theft.

The group is of the opinion that stock theft has become a serious concern in recent years, and this has robbed them of their livelihoods.

The 14 people arrested in a swoop operation on October 4 on charges of transnational internet fraud and trafficking in persons appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate's Court this afternoon.

The case was postponed to February 15, 2024 for further investigations, and bail was refused to all.
