Omaheke, ||Kharas, Hardap regions to benefit from drought relief programme

The Omaheke, ||Kharas, and Hardap regions will now benefit from the drought relief programme, effective from July 1st, 2023, to March 2024.

Currently, about 695,000 people are food insecure, and Deputy Prime Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah appealed to officials to register only people who meet the criteria.

She said there are signs of people being registered when they do not qualify, a situation that might defeat the purpose.

The Swapo Party Vice President, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, says the party has successfully conducted its 2023 rallies, the last one being in the Oshana Region.

The closing rally at Oshakati was attended by scores of party members adorned in blue, red, and green.

It has been an eventful year for the party as it canvassed for a larger support base meant to retain its position as the governing party in next year's national elections.

The Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, says it is incorrect to state that African governments are mum on the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.

Nandi-Ndaitwah was responding to a question from PDM President Mchenry Venaani, who expressed concern over the alleged silence of African governments on the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Nandi-Ndaitwah cited ongoing discussions at the UN Security Council, saying resolutions were being drafted by countries such as Russia and Brazil.

Swapo Party VP encourages nation to invest in Agriculture

The Swapo Party Vice President, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, has encouraged the nation to invest in agriculture to diminish unemployment amongst the youth and reduce poverty.

Nandi-Ndaitwah was speaking at a Swapo Party rally at Nkurenkuru in the Kavango West Region, which was held in preparation for the 2024 Presidential and National Assembly elections next year.

Nandi-Ndaitwah says bringing prosperity to the people remains one of the goals of the Swapo Party.

This can only be achieved through unity, and she called on all members to rally behind the leadership that was elected at last year's party congress.
