Businesses at Walvis Bay water front to be relocated

Namport's Chief Executive Officer has announced that the businesses operating at the Walvis Bay waterfront will be relocated to another area to better combine maritime activities with recreational and tourism activities.

Do Mar Fishing to construct a logistics hub at Walvis Bay

A local company, Do Mar Fishing, is expected to construct a logistics hub at Walvis Bay at a cost of N$25 million.

Established in 2017 by Tsumeb resident Antonio Rodriques, Dor Mar Fishing held a ground-breaking ceremony to announce plans for the construction.

Public to start paying entrance fee at Dune 7

As of next month, the public will be required to pay an entrance fee at Dune 7, a popular tourist attraction near Walvis Bay.

This is according to the Ministry of Environment and Tourism Public Relations Officer, who says the funds are needed to maintain the tourism facilities at the site.

Hundreds of factory workers at the Tunacor Fishing Company in Walvis Bay staged a demonstration to protest against alleged unfair treatment by management.

The employees allege that they are given warnings without being given a chance to defend themselves, which they say is unfair.
